Syvret to stand for Senator
FORMER Senator Stuart Syvret announced outside the Royal Court yesterday his intention to stand in the forthcoming election.
He said that he would be basing his candidacy on an anti-corruption campaign.
Speaking just minutes before he was sentenced to 80 hours’ community service for contempt of court, motoring and data protection offences, Mr Syvret said that he would be standing as a Senator .
In a statement that he issued earlier that morning, he claimed that Jersey’s administration and other facets of power in the Island had been riddled with corruption for decades.
