Stuart Syvret has appeared in Jersey's Magistrate's Court accused of breaching his community service order.
It comes after an appeal judge substituted his ten-week prison sentence, imposed for contempt of court in November last year, with 80 hours of community service.
Failing to comply with the community service order, which was imposed in August, could send him to jail for eight weeks.
The case was adjourned until 2 November to allow Mr Syvret to seek legal advice.
Mr Syvret initially asked Magistrate Bridget Shaw to excuse herself from the case, arguing that she was biased on the basis of her earlier rulings against him, as well as new evidence he claims has come to light.
She refused to do so, as the Royal Court had upheld her previous judgements.
He has now vowed to seek a judicial review to challenge that decision.
Mr Syvret is on bail until 2 November when he is set to reappear.
