ISLANDERS were today among the tens of thousands across Britain sharing memories of Sir Jimmy Savile, who died on Saturday aged 84.
 
The eccentric former DJ, charity fundraiser and television presenter was a regular visitor to Jersey from the 1960s until 2003. He was twice Mr Battle, in 1969 and 1972, and in 1979 was a guest of honour at the Miss World competition held in Jersey.
 
Outside of his very public engagements, which never failed to draw large crowds, he often visited his many friends here.
 
In more recent years, he renewed his public connection with the Island, attending the centenary Battle of Flowers in 2002 as a special guest. And in 2006, he said that he would have loved to have returned as Mr Battle for a third time.

I doubt 99% of the people living in Jersey know who he is.

Yes he was a frequent visitor to the island and loved to spend time with young children. Him and his friend Wilfred Brambell would get hours of pleasure visiting the islands children especially those in care who he had a particular affection for.

sir jimmy saville a great loss to world a wonderfull man,
as a young lad of 17 in 1982 having just passed my driving test just hours before my claim to faim was i was allowed to drive jimmy saville blue v12 e-type jaguar car this memory has stayed with me all my life .

I met Jimmy Savile in Gibraltar some years back, when he stopped of there with the QE2, a true gentleman, RIP Sir Jim.

He did indeed do a lot of selfless charitable work on behalf of children, yes. A gentleman who will be very much missed. Best wishes.

Apparently Kray had access to many London care homes and would have boys delivered to parties at DJ Alan ” fluff” Freeman’s large flat over a music shop in East London. There they would meet with show biz types and DJs including Jimmy Saville, Joe Meeks and on occasion Beatles manager Brian Epstein.

Saville was among several men well known to local police, in fact Saville instigated the DJ disco genre solely to gain access to boys, and at that time, many of the DJs wanted access to androgynous scooter riding boys with their make up and Carnaby Street clothes.'

This is an excellent article and while I cannot verify every fact the theme is absolutely right. I know from my own unimpeachable sources that Saville was a sick abomination of a human being who not only abused children, but was a necrophiliac, which is defined as an 'obsessive fascination with death and corpse' and an 'attraction to or sexual contact with corpses' - hence his famous 'volunteering' to be a 'porter' at Leeds General Infirmary.



The despicable Saville was also a close friend of Prince Philip until they fell out.

On 29 October 2011, a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:

'Police were called at 12.10pm today to the discovery of a man's body at a house in Roundhay, Leeds.

'The body of a man in his 80s was found at the property...'

The body was that of Sir Jimmy Savile.

Savile was a regular visitor to Kensington Palace, Buckingham Palace, and Highgrove.

Now then now then.....the truth is that Jersey society except for a few brave souls ...are A.stupid and B.gullible..they live in a bland world of Nicey nicey....blinkered to reality which clearly is too rich for their blood...a sort of afternoon tea and cake brigade complete with doilies...who do not wish to see anything unpleasant..a sweep it under the carpet mentality...which I to a degree understand....for if half of them weren't boozed or Valium..ed out of their tiny minds they would wake up screaming..realizing that the bus they were hurtling downhill on has been abandoned by the driver and they are all alone

in the 80's saville attended a lot of charity events here on jersey,the 1 that i remember the most was a charity event that was held in phycis gym in the elephant park up at les quennevais up st brelade,as i helped out,cant remember what charity it was for now,but a lot of the helpers were teenagers, saville had supposedly flown over just to attend that particular event,but reading that article above he was on jersey for a lot more the filthy animal i hope he rots in the fires of hell for all eternity
